Organizations & branches
Add locations, configure a branch end to end — currency, order prefix, receipt notes, rates, tenders — and understand what is shared between branches.
What lives where
| Shared across the organization | Owned by one branch |
|---|---|
| Team members and their roles | Inventory items and stock levels |
| Customers and loyalty balances | Menu items and categories |
| Discount codes | Orders, receipts and refunds |
| Menu templates | Tables, reservations and shifts |
| Custom payment tenders | VAT, service charge and receipt notes |
| Tax rates (can be branch-scoped) | Reports, purchasing and transfers |
A customer is recognised everywhere
Customers are keyed on phone number per organization. A shopper who buys at one branch is the same customer — with the same loyalty balance — at every other branch.
Add another branch
Organization → Branch → Create
Open the organization, then choose to create a branch.
Fill in name, email, phone, country, location and address.
Choose the branch type: Restaurant or Retail.
This decides whether the branch sells from a menu or from inventory.
Give it its own order prefix.
Two branches sharing a prefix makes order numbers ambiguous on receipts and in reports.
Click Create Branch.
A new branch starts empty. Stock only arrives through a transfer or a supplier receipt — never by typing a number in.

- Set currency, VAT, service charge → Build its catalog
- Build its catalog → Where does opening stock come from?
- Where does opening stock come from? → Stock transfer from another branch (existing branch)
- Where does opening stock come from? → Goods receipt from a supplier (new purchase)
- Stock transfer from another branch → Branch is trading
- Goods receipt from a supplier → Branch is trading
Stock does not follow the branch
A new branch starts empty. Move stock into it with a stock transfer from an existing branch, or receive it from a supplier through a purchase order.
Branch profile and receipt identity
Organization → Branch → Settings
This screen holds the branch's identity — what it is called, how it is reached, what currency it trades in, and what prints at the top and bottom of a receipt.
Two screens, two jobs: identity and money-in live on the branch profile, trading behaviour lives on the dashboard settings page.

- What are you changing? → Branch profile (identity / payments)
- What are you changing? → Dashboard settings (trading rules)
- What are you changing? → Organization settings (the business)
- Branch profile → Name, currency, order prefix, receipt header, M-Pesa credentials
- Dashboard settings → VAT, service charge, loyalty, tenders, receipt footer, eTIMS
- Organization settings → Business name, logo, members
- Branch name, type, email, phone
- Contact block printed on receipts and shown in the branch switcher.
- Location, address, P.O Box
- Postal and physical details for receipts and supplier paperwork.
- Currency
- Every price, total and report figure for this branch is formatted in this currency. Set it before you start trading.
- Status
- Active or inactive. Deactivating parks a location without deleting its history.
- Order prefix
- Leading code on every order number generated at this branch.
- Header note and footer note
- Free text printed above and below the receipt body — a welcome line, return policy, or contact.
- Payments
- Where M-Pesa credentials for this branch are configured. See the Payments guide.
Changing currency does not convert history
Past orders keep the numbers they were recorded with; only the symbol changes. Decide the currency when you open a branch, not after a month of trading.
Operating settings
Dashboard → Settings
The dashboard Settings page controls how the branch behaves while trading: what it charges, how long an unpaid order stays editable, when a session times out, what the receipt says, and whether loyalty is on.
Tax & charges
- VAT rate (%)
- Default tax applied to a line unless the item carries its own tax profile. Enter 16 for standard Kenyan VAT, or 0 if you do not charge VAT.
- Service charge (%)
- Applied to the discounted subtotal of every order at this branch. Leave at 0 for retail.
Point of sale
- Unpaid order edit grace (minutes)
- How long an unpaid order stays editable after it was placed.
- Session timeout (minutes)
- Idle time before a signed-in terminal is locked. Shorter is safer on a shared till.
- Auto-accept kitchen tickets
- On: new orders appear on the kitchen display immediately. Off: they wait for manual acceptance.
Receipt
- Footer note
- Thank-you message, return policy or contact line at the foot of the receipt.
- Show receipt stamp
- Prints a paid/served stamp on completed receipts.
Customer loyalty
- Enable loyalty points
- Awards points to identified customers when their orders settle.
- KES per point
- How much a customer must spend to earn one point. 100 means one point per KES 100 paid.
Custom payment tenders
- Tender name
- A manual payment method your business accepts — a voucher, a wallet, a house account.
- Reconciliation bucket
- Which column the tender counts toward at end-of-day: cash, card, M-Pesa or other.
- Enable / Disable
- Only enabled tenders appear in the POS payment list.
KRA eTIMS (configuration only)
- Enable eTIMS, Branch code, Device ID, eTIMS PIN
- Stores your eTIMS credentials against the branch. Leave the PIN blank to keep the stored one. No invoice is transmitted to KRA from Wezo yet — this is configuration only.
Saving
Change the fields you need.
Click Save changes.
New rates apply to orders placed after the save; existing orders are untouched.
Working across branches
- Switch location from the sidebar: choose the organization, then the branch.
- Organization → Orders shows orders from every branch in one list, useful for a head-office view.
- Reports include a branch performance breakdown so you can compare locations over the same period.
- Moving stock between locations is a stock transfer, never a manual edit of two stock counts.
